Date: February 18, 2018
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EST
Event Description:
"Breaking the Ground and Tilling the Soil" is a quarterly community conversation focusing on diversity and inclusion.  Each program will approach the topic from the perspective of Lorain as the International City, and our need to "look below the surface" as we strive to improve our appreciation of the diversity of the city.

The first program will focus on African American Heritage featuring Dr. David Hall, Superintendent of Oberlin City Schools.   Also included in this program will be a brief performance from the 'Move It' Dance Troupe, a performance by Jeanine Donaldson, Director of the Elyria YWCA, and a special guest appearance by Sojourner Truth.

This event is sponsored by Pam Carter, 3rd Ward Lorain Councilwoman and JoAnne Moon, 5th Ward Lorain Councilwoman.  Light refreshments will be served, and the event is open to the public.
