Are you ready for a bus ride through a completely planned urban community designed for thousands of people, noting a giant steel mill complex providing jobs for the new residents, and learning about a mass immigration from all over the world to inhabit and work at one special location - right here in Lorain County. Imagine as you travel along, an era of hundreds of homes being constructed, the building of educational facilities and commercial establishments, the founding of ethnic churches and nationality orientated organizations - all to serve the influx of workers and their families. Come along with us, as the Center For LifeLong Learning takes another special bus tour, to where the coal and iron meet. We will view the impact steel had on Lorain and learn how it affected the already existing city - changing it forever; and study the evolution of the city through the years - exploring its future possibilities.
To register, call the LCCC Center for Lifelong Learning at 440-366-4148.
Co-sponsored by the Lorain Historical Society.
